Family Dentistry Please visit our Cosmetic Dentistry Services (The followings
are some of our services) Tooth colored fillings
- Composite resins are tooth-colored, plastic materials (made of glass
and resin) that are used both as fillings and to repair defects in the
teeth. They are gently bonded to the teeth and they provide
good sealed margins. Often they
can be done in a more conservative fashion than the traditional silver
fillings therefore saving more of one’s own tooth structure. Composite restorations are more natural in color
and can beautify many smiles.
Silver/black
fillings –
Dental amalgam is considered a safe,
affordable and durable material that has been used to restore the teeth
of more than 100 million Americans. It contains a mixture of metals such
as silver, copper and tin, in addition to about 50% mercury, which chemically
binds these components into a hard, and stable
material. Dental amalgam has been studied and reviewed
extensively, and has established a record of safety and effectiveness
according to
Dentures - If you’ve lost all of your natural
teeth, whether from periodontal disease, tooth decay or injury, complete
dentures can replace your missing teeth and your smile. Replacing missing
teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. Without support from
the denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older. You’ll be
able to eat and speak—things that people often take for granted until
their natural teeth are lost. There are various
types of complete dentures. A conventional full denture is made and placed
in the patient’s mouth after the remaining teeth are removed and tissues
have healed which may take several months. An immediate complete denture
is inserted as soon as the remaining teeth are removed. Measurements and
models of the patient’s jaws are made during a preliminary visit. With
immediate dentures, the denture wearer does not have to be without teeth
during the healing period. Metal framework partial - usually consist of replacement teeth attached to pink or gum-colored plastic bases, which are connected by metal framework. And often are attached to natural teeth via metal hooks called clasps.
Flexi-Partials - A more aesthetic, metal free choice of partial denture that is flexible, lighter weight, comfortable, and more fracture resistant than the traditional metal framework partial.
Implant Restorations - Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures attached to dental implants may be the preferred choice when replacing missing teeth. For some people, Dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. The dental implants are traditionally placed surgically below the gums over a series of appointments by an Oral Surgeon or a Periodontist of your choice.
RootCanal - Once upon a time, if you had a tooth with a diseased nerve, you'd probably lose that tooth. Today, with a special dental procedure called a root canal therapy you may save that tooth. Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth, it runs like a thread down through the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don't remove it, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. After your dentist remves the pulp, the root canals are cleaned and filled to protect them. Then your dentist places a crown over the tooth to help make it stronger. At our office your dentist will use a variety of technologically advanced rotary and sonic tools for cleansing and shaping the canals and they are filled with technologically advanced warm gutta-percha for an optimum three dimensional fill. Statistical data show Root Canal Treatment to have about 95% success rate.
Gum
Treatment – Periodontal
disease is an infection of the tissues that support your teeth.
Scaling and Root planning ( commonly
called Deep Cleaning) is the careful nonsurgical removal of the infection causing bacteria, plaque
and tartar from around and below your gum. Your gum tissue is not attached to the teeth
as high as it may seem. There is a very shallow v-shaped crevice called
a sulcus between the tooth and gums. Periodontal diseases attack
just below the gum line in the sulcus, where
they cause the attachment of the tooth and its
supporting tissues to break down. As the tissues are damaged, the sulcus develops into a pocket: generally, the more severe
the disease, the greater the depth of the pocket. Periodontal diseases
are classified according to the severity of the disease. The two major
stages are gingivitis and periodontitis. Gingivitis
is a milder and reversible form of periodontal disease that only affects
the gums. Gingivitis may lead to more serious, destructive forms of periodontal
disease called periodontitis. It is possible to have periodontal
disease and have no warning signs. That is one reason why regular
dental checkups and periodontal examinations are very important. Treatment
methods depend upon the type of disease and how far the condition has
progressed. Good oral hygiene at home is essential to help keep periodontal
disease from becoming more serious or recurring. You don’t have
to lose teeth to periodontal disease. Brush, clean between your
teeth, eat a balanced diet, and schedule regular dental visits for a lifetime
of healthy smiles.
Oral Surgury – Simple extractions and many surgical extractions
are done at our office. Our dentist
will numb the area to lessen any discomfort. After
the extraction, you will be advised of a post extraction regiment to follow, in most cases
a small amount of bleeding is normal.
If any sutures are placed , they may need
to be removed about a week later. Avoid
anything that might prevent normal healing. It is usually best not to
smoke or rinse your mouth vigorously, or drink through a straw for 24
hours. These activities could dislodge the clot and delay healing. For the first few days, if you must rinse, rinse
your mouth gently afterward, for pain or swelling, apply a cold cloth
or an ice bag. Ask your dentist about pain medication. You can brush and
floss the other teeth as usual. But don't clean the teeth next to the
tooth socket. When having an extraction, today's modern procedures and
follow up care as recommended are there to provide you the patient great
benefit and comfort. Crown - If you want a
smile that's your crowning glory, you may need a crown (commonly called
a cap) to cover a tooth and restore it to its normal shape and size. A
crown can make your tooth stronger and improve its appearance.
It can cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there
isn't enough tooth left. It can be used to attach
a bridge, protect a weak tooth from breaking or restore one that's already
broken. A crown is a good way to cover teeth that are discolored or badly
shaped. It's also used to cover a dental implant.
At our office we offer many different types of crowns from aesthetic
all Porcelain crowns to different types of Porcelain to Metal crowns and
etc. to choose from.
Bridge - Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. The restoration can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain or a combination of these materials and is bonded onto surrounding teeth for support. Unlike a removable bridge, which you can take out and clean, a fixed bridge can only be removed by a dentist.
Preventive
Cleanings - regular teeth cleaning and polishing
of teeth also called prophylaxis. Diagnostics – We offer comprehensive examinations and diagnostic X- rays
to all our patients.
Sealants - A sealant is a plastic material that is usually applied to
the chewing surfaces of the back teeth—premolars and molars. This plastic
resin bonds into the depressions and grooves (pits and fissures) of the
chewing surfaces of back teeth. The sealant acts as a barrier, protecting
enamel from plaque and acids. Thorough
brushing and flossing help remove food particles and plaque from smooth
surfaces of teeth. But toothbrush bristles cannot reach all the way into
the depressions and grooves to extract food and plaque. Sealants protect
these vulnerable areas by "sealing out" plaque and food. Oral Cancer Screenings – There are recent good news about
progress against cancer. It is now easier than ever to detect oral cancer
early, when the opportunity for a cure is great. Currently only half of
all patients diagnosed with oral cancer survive more than five years. We have the skills
and tools to ensure that early signs of cancer and pre-cancerous conditions
are identified. Regular dental
check-ups, including an examination of the entire mouth, are essential
in the early detection of cancerous and pre-cancerous conditions. You
may have a very small, but dangerous, oral spot or sore and not be aware
of it. TMJ and Grinding – Many
Temporomandibular Joint Symptoms and night grinding
(Bruxism) symptoms can be treated with a simple
custom made night-guard appliance that is worn by the patient while asleep.
We custom fabricate both hard and soft acrylic night-guards with
in a few days. Pediatric Dentistry –
We welcome children of all ages and we will provide care to them with
in the scope of general dentistry.
Other
Services- Our services are customized
